What does this do?

This is a 4 channel audio mixer with a summer output, and vca out put. The signal path is mono. Channel 5 is white noise. You can use this as a mixer, or percussion generator. There is an onboard envelope generator, with Decay. The trigger input jack is used to activate the envelope. The same trigger input is 'clock' for the internal sample and hold circuit. The toggle switch is used to sample and hold white noise, or select channel 1 as the sample source. The other toggle switch activates a wave folder on the output, after the VCA.


Knob spacing is 1". Plenty of room.


SMT parts are used. Tolerances are better than through hole components.

Power Capacitors are Tantalum type.

Analog VCO with VCA based exponential converter.

1V per Octave Scaling.


There are 8 possible wave forms. You select the wave form by potentiometer. There is also CV input to select the wave form. You can switch this module into LFO mode or VCO mode. There is also two types of hard sync, selected with toggle switch.

Origins of the vco is from Bergfotron Advanced VCO. This is a transistor based discrete triangle core design. The 1v per octave circuit is a vca based design, however. Very stable tracking is achieved.


The main frequency tune knob is a 10 turn, precision potentiometer.
This module is compatible with dot com box11.

The first audio wave is raw vco. The other two audio wave recordings demonstrate using multiple VCO's in a patch. You can hear the tracking.
